Cheryl Hansen joined WCN in 2026 after 17 years at The Walt Disney Studios, where she wrote about movies ranging from Disney’s “Frozen” and “Mufasa: The Lion King” to Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and Disneynature’s “Sea Lions of the Galapagos.” She was part of the launch team for Disneynature, covering big-screen and streaming releases including “Bears” and “Monkey Kingdom,” for which she trekked to Alaska and Sri Lanka, respectively, to shadow filmmakers and document production. Cheryl’s background also includes showcasing rescue, rehabilitation, and release of animals like manatees and sea turtles, as well as the syndicated TV specials reviving Walt Disney’s True-Life Adventures. Based in Northern Colorado, Cheryl likes to hang out with her dog and cats, spend time outdoors—ideally on a paddleboard with good friends and family—and work on her own stories.
