The Snow Leopard, one of the most elusive wild cats, is known as “The Ghost of the Mountain” throughout its rangeland of south and central Asia. Within Nepal, snow leopards are categorized as Endangered in the nation’s Red List of Threatened Species. The Upper Karnali Landscape Initiative is a community-driven model that ensures conservation efforts are grounded in the cultural heritage and values of the landscapes it serves. Their work reduces illegal activities and habitat destruction to instead improve habitat restoration to ensure critical ecosystems remain intact and resilient. Thank you for supporting their efforts!
