When Dr. Rodney Jackson received a phone call from Dale Anderson, founder of Project Survival’s Cat Haven, telling him that the baby snow leopard cub just born at Cat Haven would be named Jackson, Rodney was at a loss for words. The following day in an email to Project Survival, Rodney wrote, “A day later I remain stunned by yesterday’s phone call from Dale. Wow, what an honor to have a real, live snow leopard named after me. As I mumbled to Dale, a four-legged furry creature is a great ‘son’ to have!”
Project Survival Cat Haven promotes the conservation and preservation of wild cats in their native habitat by educating visitors and publicizing the work done by Project Survival Cat Conservation Group. Project Survival is engaged in fundraising, including the creation of endowments, to support wildlife specialists and educators working in range countries. Over the years they have been wonderful friends and supporters of Snow Leopard Conservancy.
Welcome to the world, Jackson!
