Conservationists Spot a Nearly All-White Penguin

November 8, 2018

By Kaitlin Tillett

Magellanic penguins are characterized by their black and white markings with two black bands between their head and breast. It’s no surprise that Dr. Pablo Borboroglu of Global Penguin Society did a double take when he stumbled upon a nearly all-white Magellanic penguin speckled with black spots. Global Penguin Society plans to keep a close eye on this penguin to see if her chicks also display similar markings. Watch as Pablo explains why this penguin looks so different.
