Muraling for Saigas in Uzbekistan

June 2, 2014

By Wildlife Conservation Network

This spring, the Saiga Conservation Alliance collaborated with renowned British wildlife artist Rory McCann as well as with local children to create a striking mural in the center of a town in rural Uzbekistan. The idea for the mural was developed by the children and centers around the theme “Our Wildlife, Our Home.” The children then worked with Rory to paint the many animals that live around them. The feature point of the mural is a stunning saiga antelope. Rory himself has the ambition to instill a love for nature and creativity in people. Many of his mural work is, as in Uzbekistan, carried out in partnership with young people and schools.
