Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund has made their 1,000th grant for conservation! Disney has long been an incredible supporter of the conservationists in our network. Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund just awarded more than $200,000 in grants to Andean Cat Alliance, Cheetah Conservation Botswana, Grevy’s Zebra Trust, Painted Dog Conservation, Saiga Conservation Alliance, Save the Elephants and Snow Leopard Conservancy.
Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, which was founded in 1995, is a key pillar in Disney’s efforts to protect the planet for future generations and help kids develop lifelong conservation values. Each year DWCF also selects Conservation Heroes from among the organizations they fund. This year we were proud to see Peter Lalampaa of Grevy’s Zebra Trust, Felix Medina from Proyecto Tití and Gebhardt Nikanor of Cheetah Conservation Fund all chosen as heroes. The award recognizes these local citizens’ tireless efforts to save wildlife, protect habitats and educate communities.
Disney Online Studios is also a supporter of conservation through their Club Penguin Coins for Change Program, and the Disney Rapid Response Fund provides vital funding in the case of a true crisis.
Thanks, Disney!
